I paint commissions, either recreating something similar to my originals or something really personal, particularly 'on a hill from behind' seem to be favourites.

For a special present for her husband's birthday Karen requested this commission. The brief was to draw her and her husband as my characters Button and Bolt looking out over their favourite view of a local viaduct. Also to include their MG car and gorgeous french bulldog.
I got Karen to pick the colours from previous paintings I had done that she liked, as it really is a joint effort to produce the perfect commission.
The response at the final piece 'A massive THANKYOU. My husband loves the picture' and from the man himself 'This is a very personal picture in to our lives. I love it. Thanks to Rebecca and Karen'.
The brief for this painting: 'My Sister, my best friend in the whole wide world and her husband, Paul have found out they are going to be having a baby after their first course of IVF treatment. We're all so happy and proud for them. I wanted a painting incorporating my Sis and Paul, their dog, Alfie, looking and cooing at the swaddled baby.'
The lovely response: 'Thank you for your gorgeous painting. It will take pride of place in the nursery. To think that no one in the world will have that painting makes it incredibly special.'
